FAAS Programs

Note: We are currently evaluating the effectiveness of our programs. Our goal is to move as many as possible to self-service, web-based programs.

Breeders Award Program (BAP)
The FAAS Breeders Award Program provides recognition to individual society members who breed fish. Breeding fish locally benefits the environment because fish do not need to be collected from the wild. In addition, the challenge and fun of breeding fish generates interest and keeps people in our hobby.

Horticulture Award Program (HAP)
It's hard to beat the beauty of a planted aquarium. Our HAP program awards individual club members who propagate aquarium plants.

Publication Award Program
Club newsletters are a great source of information for the tropical fish hobbyist. This program recognizes the hard work of society editors and writers.

Photo Award Program
Taking good photos of aquarium fish is harder than it appears! This program provide recognition for excellence in photography.

Website Awards
This award honors member societies and their webmasters who use the web to promote their society and the aquarium hobby.

The Federation Report
Our bi-monthly newsletter provides information about FAAS, a calendar and society management-related articles.

Sanction Show Award Program
Many hobbyists enjoy entering their best fish in FAAS-sanctioned shows.

The FAAS Medallion
The FAAS medallion is the mark of membership in the Federation of American Aquarium Societies.
